Jason W. Best, Co-Founder & Principal, Crowdfund Capital Advisors  Jason Best
Jason W. Best is a technology entrepreneur who co-authored the crowdfund-investing framework used in the JOBS Act to legalize securities-based crowdfunding in the U.S.A. He and his business partner led the 460-day grass roots campaign to change 80 year old securities laws in the United States. He has twice been invited to provide US Congressional testimony on early-stage finance, consulted with current and former SEC Chairpersons and Commissioners and attended the White House, Rose Garden ceremony for President Obama to sign The JOBS Act into law, on April 5, 2012. Since then, professional investors, large corporations, financial institutions, government ministries engage his firm, Crowdfund Capital Advisors, to create successful investing and policy strategies in early-stage finance. CCA has worked on innovative finance advisory initiatives in 35 countries.

Chris Brocoum, Vice President of Finance, Lending Club Chris Brocoum
As Vice President of Finance at Lending Club, Chris focuses on uncovering insights and building analytics around the company’s marketplace lending platform. He is also responsible for leveraging technology to develop innovative solutions for scaling Lending Club’s financial operations.
After earning his MBA from Haas in the Berkeley-Columbia Executive Program, Chris began combining his dual passions for technology and finance in the burgeoning world of FinTech as Director of Finance & Risk Management at PlaySpan – a payments, microtransactions, and virtual currencies start-up which was acquired by Visa in 2011.
Chris launched his career in tech after completing a BS in Economics at MIT. He moved to Silicon Valley as part of the founding team of a cloud computing start-up, and went on to build his finance experience via several roles at KLA-Tencor, including an assignment abroad in the UK.
Sam Hodges, Founder & Managing Director, Funding Circle Sam Hodges
Sam Hodges is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Funding Circle. Under his leadership, Funding Circle has grown its US business exponentially and has emerged as the world’s largest online marketplace exclusively focused on small business loans. Before co-founding Funding Circle, Sam served as Vice President of Business Development at SecondMarket – an early pioneer in the online financial marketplace sector. Sam was also part of the investment team at Pequot Capital, an $8 billion global fund manager, where he covered investments in financial technology and information services. He started his career as a strategy consultant at Katzenbach Partners, where he advised financial services and technology companies. Sam currently serves on the boards of two private companies. He received his MBA and MS from Stanford University and graduated magna cum laude from Brown University.
Jeremy Todd, Director of West Coast Sales, Orchard Platform Jeremy Todd
Jeremy Todd has over 17 years of financial services experience in sales, marketing, and business development covering asset managers, hedge funds, institutional investors, broker-dealers and registered investment advisors. He most recently was at Barclays, where he managed the west coast prime brokerage business. He has also been a director at The Bank of New York Mellon, where he started the Pershing Prime Services business and managed the sales team, and a managing director at Bear Stearns in global clearing sales. Jeremy earned a B.A. in philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley.
James Wu, CEO & Founder, Monja James Wu
James is the CEO and founder of MonJa, a San Francisco finance technology startup that empowers institutional investors with market insights for marketplace lending. Before he founded MonJa in 2014, he was the Executive Director of Risk Management Analytics at MSCI. He spent the last decade designing and selling investment tools for institutional investors. James holds a BS in Computer Science from Columbia University and an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
